Ranthambore National Park - May '26

Finally, it looks like I've been cured of my tiger fever!

I visited Ranthambore National Park twice—first in November 2025 and then again in May 2026. During my first visit, I couldn't capture the images I had hoped for, so I returned for a second trip. This time, I came back satisfied, and I'm fairly certain this will be my last tiger safari. The photographs in this album are from both visits.

Most of our safaris entered through Gate 3, which provides access to the iconic Zone 3. Widely regarded as the most scenic and historically significant part of the park, Zone 3 offers a wonderful blend of wildlife, landscapes, and heritage. The safari route passes close to the 1,000-year-old Ranthambore Fort, while the picturesque Padam Talao—one of the park's largest lakes, along with Rajbagh Lake and Malik Lake—is framed by dense forests and dramatic scenery. The ruins of Jogi Mahal adds a spectacular backdrop for wildlife photography.

Zone 3 was once home to legendary tigers such as Machhli (T-16) and later her famous descendant Arrowhead (T-84). With abundant water sources, healthy prey populations, and breathtaking landscapes, it continues to offer some of the finest tiger sighting and photography opportunities in Ranthambore.
